Interview Analysis — Behavioral Insights That Go Beyond the Words
The problem
Interviews — whether for research, hiring, or journalism — produce rich qualitative data that is difficult to process. Standard transcription gives you the words but strips the context. Was the interviewee confident or uncertain in their response? Did they elaborate spontaneously or only when prompted? How did the interviewer's questions shape the direction of the conversation? These dynamics are critical for interpreting interview data accurately, but they require re-listening to the full recording — often multiple times.
How auraScribe helps
- Speaker-attributed transcript with uncertainty flags: Know exactly who said what, with AI-flagged segments where attribution is uncertain so you can verify.
- Behavioral annotations alongside the transcript: Raw Audio Cues capture hesitation patterns, elaboration vs. minimal responses, and conversational dynamics.
- Per-speaker remarks: Separate behavioral profiles for interviewer and interviewee, highlighting communication patterns and engagement levels.
- Full audio cue log for qualitative coding: Use the timestamped behavioral observations as a starting point for deeper qualitative analysis.
What you'll see
- Interviewee provided notably longer, more detailed responses on topics related to their previous role — suggesting higher comfort and expertise in that area.
- Three instances of the interviewee redirecting the conversation away from project outcomes and toward process — potentially avoiding accountability discussion.
- Interviewer's questions became progressively more leading in the second half, which may have shaped the interviewee's responses.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it for focus groups?
Yes, with the caveat that speaker diarization accuracy decreases with more participants. For focus groups of 6-8 people, the human review stage is especially important to correct speaker assignments. The behavioral analysis will still capture group dynamics and participation patterns effectively.
Does it support academic research standards?
auraScribe produces verbatim transcripts with speaker attribution and behavioral annotations. It does not currently export in standard qualitative research formats (e.g., ATLAS.ti or NVivo format), but the transcript and behavioral log provide a strong starting point for manual qualitative coding.
How does it handle long interviews?
The continuation loop ensures every word is transcribed regardless of interview length. Interviews of 60-90 minutes are handled routinely. The system processes meetings of several hours through automatic continuation cycles.
